Massachusetts ICESd

 

New Guests are invited to each meeting, but will pay an extra non-ICES member fee when registering.  Meetings usually consist of a luncheon, general meeting, and demonstrations of various aspects of sugar arts.  Each meeting fee includes the cost of the luncheon and demos.  Advance registration and payment are required.


Local Meetings are called
“Days of Sharing” (DOS).

They are typically held the last Sunday in the months of September,  January, March, and June, and take place in different regions of the state.

Typically we offer classes  during those same weekends on Saturday and Sunday which are conducted by our guest  instructors.

Hands on Classes with
Michele Sweeney


Michele first picked up a pastry bag at the age of 6. She is a
4th generation baker and 2nd generation cake decorator. She
is also the owner of Epicurean Delights in Kirkland, WA.
She’s a graduate of the internationally acclaimed Wilton
School of Cake Decorating and Confectionery Art, a former Wilton Method Instructor and is an ICES Approved Instructor. Her training and education include Chez Boucher Culinary School in New England as well as an extensive education with some of the top sugar artists and teachers in the country. Her work has won several awards and has been featured on several sites and publications such as Craftsy, Satin Ice, Lucks, Icing Images, ICES Magazine and Edible Artist Network Magazine. She also enjoys competing in live challenges and most recently competed on Cake Wars: Christmas on Food Network.

When she’s not busy creating custom works of art for clients, (including food styling and creating cakes for The Lucks Food Decorating Company), blogging about caking and baking or shooting new sweet or savory “how to" videos, you can find her demoing and teaching sugar art classes at home and around the US. She’s equally passionate about teaching as she is about culinary art.

We will be collecting toys for children of all ages to donate to Toys for Tots at the September Day of Sharing. For every toy you bring, you will receive a raffle ticket. Let’s make this a successful donation campaign!

NOTE: CLASS FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. Advance registration is mandatory for all events! Your registration may be reassigned to another person with approval from the MassICES Rep 24 hours prior to the start of class, and any applicable fees paid (i.e. Difference between member and non-member price where it applies.) Classes may be cancelled in the event that the minimum number of students are not met to hold the class. You will receive an e-mail confirmation for class registrations only. Should you have any questions regarding your registration for the classes please contact us at massicesrep@gmail.com.
Any checks returned for any reason from the bank will incur a $25 processing fee payable to MassICES. 

Anyone who cancels their payment directly through their credit card company after the event because they did not attend, or had an issue with the class(es), will be subject to fraud and will be asked not to attend classes or a DOS in the future.


The Lunch Buffet will begin at 12:15pm and will feature:

Rolls & Butter, Garden Salad, Stuffed Breast of Chicken Florentine, Baked Scrod,
Potatoes, Seasonal Vegetables, Coffee, Tea and Dessert

Gluten Free, Vegetarian and Vegan Options Available.
