New Guests are invited to each meeting, but will pay an extra non-ICES member fee when registering.  Meetings usually consist of a luncheon, general meeting, and demonstrations of various aspects of sugar arts.  Each meeting fee includes the cost of the luncheon and demos.  Advance registration and payment are required.

Unfortunately Pat Jacoby had a family emergency and had to cancel our visit to us, but our members are stepping up to the task and will give you a great day of fun and learning plus 3 new classes! Please see below for more information on our replacement classes. We hope you can join  us.

We will also be having our very popular “Clean Out Your Cake Cabinet” day this year. This has been very popular in the past as a way of not only getting rid of your lesser used cake related items, but of also picking up a bargain in the process. Class 1 Saturday, January 28th, from 8:00am-12:00pm.
Gumpaste Sweet Peas with Michelle Bourbeau
Students will learn to create the feminine and dainty Sweet Pea flower, using a combination of hand molding and cutters. You will also learn dusting techniques to bring your flower to life.  We will be making multiple flowers, as well as the accompaniments to put together a beautiful spray of Sweet Peas.  The cost of the class includes a set of Sweet Pea cutters to keep, as well as a box to transport your flower home in.

Class 2 Saturday, January 28th, from 1:30pm-4:30pm.
Fondant Covered Handbag Cake with Sandra Frezza
In this 3 hour hands-on class students will take home a completed handbag shaped cake covered in fondant and detailed with fondant and gum paste. Students will learn to cut, shape, assemble and decorate actual cake to resemble a handbag. Class 3 Sunday, January 29th, from 9:00am-11:30am
Shells on the Beach with MJ Dowling, CMSA
Create realistic looking shells using both molds and freehand from gumpaste to make a small seaside vignette. Learn how to apply proper coloring for a realistic look and how different materials can be used as sand, rocks, coral, and sea glass. Each student will take home a multi-cavity silicon shell mold to keep. Supply list: dresden tool, ball tool, 6” or small box to take home work.

Cost: ICES members - $85, non-ICES guests $95 

Payment & Refund policy:  In the event your class choice is filled, you will be informed promptly and all monies will be returned to you.

NOTE: CLASS FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. Advance registration is mandatory for all events! Your registration may be reassigned to another person with approval from the MassICES Treasurer 24 hours prior to the start of class, and any applicable fees paid (i.e. Difference between member and non-member price where it applies.) A $5 late fee for all registrations after the posted registration date will be charged for each class. Classes may be cancelled in the event that the minimum number of students are not met to hold the class. You will receive an e-mail confirmation for class registrations only.
